Michelle Sherman, LSW, is the Family Advocate for the Urban Child Development Resource Center (UCDRC), an entity within the network of programs housed within the University of Dayton Center for Catholic Education. Michelle received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the Ohio State University. She began her twenty year career as a licensed social worker in mental health services and social work with senior citizens. She came to UCDRC in 2008 and developed the Family Advocate program. Michelle networks with many community agencies to bring resources and services to three urban Catholic schools in Dayton. She has assisted families with utility bill assistance, supplies of food, clothing, shelter, medical assistance and household needs. Her holiday programs support hundreds of school children. Michelle has a passion for engaging with parents and providing education to support the individual and the family. She works with diverse populations and constantly adjusts the program focus to meet the needs of her schools and her families.
