Biographical Information

(b.1932) Adams received his Bachelors from Oberlin College, Masters from California State University, Long beach, and Ph.D. from Ohio State University. He is a pianist-composer, organist, conductor, writer and educator. Adams taught at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and University of Kansas. He also has been the Composer-in-residence at Karamu House in Cleveland (1979-80), and Cleveland Music school Settlement (1981-82). Currently Adams is the executive vice-president and composer-in-residence of Creative Arts, Incorporated, a nonprofit arts organization in Cleveland, Ohio that promotes the work of minority artists.
