Why the honoree chose the book

This book was originally published in 1952 by Editions de Seuil France in French as Peau Noire, Masques Blanc. It was translated in English by Charles Lam Markmann and includes forewords by Ziauddin Sardar and Homi K. Bhabha.

Fanon makes thinkers in the humanities rethink the inhumane ways they analyze human beings. He makes you look in the mirror and see yourself, warts and all, in a tragic comic fashion. Fanon did not write for tenure.
