Reliquary containing a relic of Saint Francis of Assisi. The date that this reliquary was assembled is unknown. Saint Francis (1182-1226) is one of the most beloved of all saints. He is known for rejecting wordly riches and for his love of animals. He also received the stigmata and arranged the first Christmas nativity scene.
