Dr. Scot Brown is associate professor of African-American studies and history at UCLA. He is the author of numerous books and articles on social and political movements, music, and popular culture. He is in the process of completing a book project exploring Dayton, Ohio, as a hotbed of soul and funk music. He has appeared in film and television documentaries and radio programs as an expert commentator.
