Abstract

On Sundays, my husband and I have a ritual, which I suspect is shared by many parents about our age, and which takes most of the day to complete: Facetiming our young adult children. In general, we try to be circumspect with the number of times we call or text our children, who are in their early 20s. We don't want to be overbearing or repetitive or smothering. But we do want to feel close to our children and their lives. So we've all agreed to make Sunday calls a priority.
