Abstract

Sarah Coad and Zachary Sander travelled to La Paz, Bolivia from May 18, 2009 to July 29, 2009 as a part of the University of Dayton ETHOS program. The purpose of this trip was to experience a new culture and gain a better understanding of Bolivia while furthering their engineering education through research projects. The group they worked with, Proleña, gave them two projects to work on. Sarah assisted with documenting and consolidating information on wood drying for a large-scale wood dryer that was being built for research while Zachary worked on developing a low-pressure dehydrator for fruit and vegetable dehydration. This report is a compilation of their work.
