Abstract

As part of the University of Dayton’s (UD) Engineers in Technical Humanitarian Opportunities of Service-Learning (ETHOS) program, three civil engineering students travelled to Kumba, Cameroon located in West Africa. The students were in Cameroon for ten weeks. During their stay, they worked with a Non-Government Organization (NGO) called the Rural Development Center (RUDEC). The students worked with RUDEC to provide technical assistance to several villages in the Kumba region. They provided full hydraulic profiles, cost estimates, and design layouts for two villages and made general project recommendations for three other villages.
