Abstract

The following report summarizes the results and conclusions of experiments performed by Peter R. Kleinhenz and George A. Mertz over the course of two months spent in Brasil. For the purpose of this report, data will be arranged in a concise, useful manner. Raw data can be found in the Excel spreadsheet ‘ETHOS – Ecofogao – Test Data.xls’. The stoves constructed by Ecofogão can be seen below, Figure 1. Four stove models are currently being built by the company. The models include the Ecoforno (upper-left), Metalico (upper-right), Rustico (bottom-left), and Campestre (bottom-right). The majority of the stoves sold by Ecofogão use a single-piece plancha as the cooking surface. The Campestre is the only model with removable plates for direct fire cooking.
