Abstract
This past summer two months was spent in Managua, Nicaragua working on photovoltaic solar panels. Time was spent in the office doing some electrical design work as well as constructing solar panels. A majority of the time however, was spent on sight performing system installations. The installations typically took place at isolated houses owned by farmers who lived deep in the mountains of Central and Northern Nicaragua. Through the experience, a great deal was learned about the process of installing battery backup and relatively low powered solar panel systems, as well as the process of constructing a solar panel.
