Abstract
Working in Bangalore, India for TIDE work was done with the biomass cookstove team to implement design changes to the biomass Bakery Oven, design a new charcoal stove, and field test the Sarala Mud Stove. Accomplishments from this work included a modest reduction in preheat time and fuel consumption of the Bakery Oven and a significant improvement in the quality and repeatability of the final product, a SolidWorks model was produced for a new prototype charcoal grill, and valuable data was collected validating the design changes made to the Sarala Mud Stove achieved their desired outcomes. The focus of this report is on the testing and design modifications made to the Bakery Ovens used at the TIDE Women’s Technology Park in Tiptur, India.
