Abstract
Our ETHOS excursion took us to Togo and Benin in West Africa to work for the Marianist brothers. While in Togo, the majority of our time was spent in Kara at College Chaminade interacting with the Marianist brothers in their daily lives. We also visited Sotouboua, the location of the 2010 ETHOS group‟s project; and Lomé, the capitol of Togo. Our project took place in Natitingou, Benin where the Marianist brothers established a new school. This new school has been open for one academic year; however the facilities were still under construction. The school building was being used for classes as well as offices and student housing while the dormitory and administrative buildings were being completed. A cafeteria was under construction, and the community house was finished. Beyond incomplete facilities, the campus also had major issues with impassable roadways, especially during and after rain. Therefore, this project was centered on creating a comprehensive topographic survey of the school‟s land and creation of a plan to improve the roadway and drainage issues.
