Abstract
A team of UD students conducted in-depth research concerning the construction of an irrigation system in a small village in central Togo (Sotouboua). The results of this research illustrated that a drip irrigation system would be the most appropriate and feasible choice considering the conditions of the fields and the village itself. Upon arrival in Togo, however, it became evident that there were many more pressing issues that needed to be addressed before an irrigation system could be built. A report was compiled to ensure that future ETHOS students placed in Togo will have the necessary information to prepare for and hence carry out an appropriate project in Sotouboua. The results demonstrated that building latrines for the villagers would be the most suitable project for future students.
