Abstract
This report is a compilation of testing data and results from testing a solar medical instrument sterilizer, called a solar autoclave, during the summer of 2008 in Sabana Grande, Totogalpa, Madriz, Nicaragua. Several different test set-ups were used, including a pressure cooker test and a dry heat test. The report shows how the tests were set up, at what times of the day, and the purpose of the tests. The results show what temperatures can be achieved during the rainy season of Nicaragua (in various locations throughout the autoclave), what trends to expect, and the advantages and disadvantages of each of the test set-ups.
