Abstract
John Ventimiglia, a University of Dayton student participating in the School of Engineering’s Engineers in Technical, Humanitarian Opportunities of Service-learning (ETHOS) program, travelled to Callao, Peru, for eleven weeks to volunteer at the Instituto Chaminade Marianistas. The ETHOS student worked in the area of technical support at the Instituto Chaminade Marianistas and provided assistance with the maintenance and advancement of the school’s computer systems. The ETHOS student also assisted in the successful completion of two large projects: the installation of a wireless network in the Marianist community at Colegio San Antonio, and the configuration and creation of a virtual private network to remotely connect a computer at Colegio San Antonio to the computer network at the Instituto Chaminade Marianistas.
