Abstract

The power of literature helps communities connect and discuss difficult issues through a unifying text. The Tipp City Public Library, in partnership with the Tipp City Schools and Dayton Literary Peace Prize, have hosted three award-winning authors to examine complex topics with high school students and the community. In this session, you will learn how the library and school continues to meet a challenging need in their community, enhances the school's curriculum, collaborates with key stakeholders, finds funding through national and local grants, expands a small-town outlook through difficult conversations and continues to exceed the outcomes of this program. The program continues to grow each year. Partners now include multiple libraries and high schools.
