Gardening guides from the John Stokes and Mary's Gardens collection include plant lists, gardening information, garden layout plans, and other materials related to Catholic and Marian gardens, plants, and flowers. Mr. Stokes co-founded Mary's Gardens in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1951. He created the gardening guides as part of the Mary's Gardens movement to promote education and interest in Catholic and Marian symbolism of plants and flowers. All gardening guides from the collection have been digitized and are available below.
