Abstract
A 16th-century painting recently acquired for the Marian Library depicts a seldom-seen scenario: the Blessed Mother feeding the Christ child with a spoon. The painting’s subject matter, its age, its origin in India and its artistry all add to the appeal of this rare treasure.
