Abstract
The University of Dayton has commissioned John Leon, a Cincinnati sculptor, to recast a campus landmark in bronze. The 9-foot-tall John F. Kennedy sculpture that graced the entrance of Kennedy Union for more than three decades is expected to return to its original post Homecoming Weekend, Oct. 16-18. After the $800,000 renovation of Kennedy Union last summer, University officials put the crumbling outdoor sculpture in storage and began to investigate ways to restore it.
