Dear Mr. Dunbar:
I intended writing you a few days since about a conversation I had with S. R. Gill. Lakeside Ohio
Secretary of the Camp meeting association. In the midst of business I have forgotten whether I wrote you or not.
I saw Mr. Gill & advised him to secure you to give true recitals during the Sunday school encampment. Which I believe comes off in July. It might be well for you to write home on the subject! I will write to Dr. Bashford & ask him to use his influence for you.
How much money would it require for you to attend the spring term at Delaware?

This item is part of the Paul Laurence Dunbar House collection at Ohio History Connection, Columbus, Ohio. The collection contains items from 219 N. Summit St., Dayton, Ohio (later 219 N. Paul Laurence Dunbar St.), the home Dunbar purchased for his mother, Matilda J. Dunbar, in 1904. Paul Laurence Dunbar lived there until his death in 1906; Matilda lived there until her death in 1934. It is now the Paul Laurence Dunbar House Historic Site, part of the National Park Service.
