In my digital collage project, I was aiming to send a message: Have we learned any lessons from the 1918 pandemic? We have so many more resources now than we did in 1918, yet have we made any improvements in the way that we handle pandemics? In my opinion, we have in some ways, but in others, we are in the same position as we were in 1918. The idea that inspired this work was/is the lack of leadership and misinformation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, which is similar to that of the 1918 pandemic. However, we, as the public, have the opportunity to change the trajectory of this pandemic, hence the glitch which sends that direct message; we have the opportunity to change history.
