Why the honoree chose the book
I read this book in graduate school, and it rocked my world! It focuses on the connections between knowledge (and knowledge production, such as in academia), power relations, and the matrix of domination (such as how racial hierarchies relate to gender hierarchies, social class, sexualities, nation-states, etc.). A must read for anyone with an interest in social justice!
