Why the honoree chose the book
This is the first edited collection on the works of Ana Castillo — a hugely influential Chicana writer who has been central to my scholarship and thought. I have been reading, teaching, and writing about Castillo's work for nearly twenty years. It was a great honor to have a chapter of mine included alongside so many groundbreaking established and emerging scholars.
