Black and white portrait of Jesus, with one hand raised and nail wounds visible in both hands. The Sacred Heart is visible on his chest. Below the image is a verse in German. The back of the card memorializes the death of Father Joseph Burrus, a member of the Congregation of the Holy Ghost Fathers who passed away in Montana, Switzerland on April 11, 1927. The back also includes a photograph of Father Burrus and a verse from the Book of Job. This card was printed by F.X. Le Roux et Companie, a printer of holy cards in Strasbourg, in the Alsace region of France, which has strong Germanic influences.

'Der Herr besitzt mich' (Aus den Notizen des Verstorbenen) Der Herr hat ihn gegeben, der Herr hat ihn genommen. Wie es dem Herrn gefiel, so ist es geschehen. Der Name des Herrn sei gepriesen. (Job.)
