William (Bill) Boesch Sr. (1926-2012) was a lifelong resident of Dayton, OH. He attended the University of Dayton and was a member of the class of 1945. Although Mr. Boesch was a draftsman and engineer by trade, his passion was commercial art. After retiring from Standard Register in 1986, Mr. Boesch began creating Pen and Ink drawings of many notable Dayton buildings, including many of the buildings which stood on the University of Dayton campus at the time. Many of these drawings were sold as post cards, paper weights, and on other items at the University of Dayton Bookstore.
The set of drawings presented to the University of Dayton archives are copies of the original scaled drawings. They are provided in the hope that they can serve the university in some way as a legacy of Mr. Boesch’s life and love for the University of Dayton.
