3D models of the Roman Cemetery along the Via Ostiense
This archive collects 3D models of the Roman cemetery along the Via Ostiense in Rome. The data underlying the models was collected in May 2017, combining photogrammetry and direct survey with a total station. Photographs captured on the ground and from above with a suspended camera were processed in the Photoscan software by Agisoft, in order to create a point cloud, 3D mesh reconstruction and, finally, a photorealistic 3D model of the site. The total station survey records the basic outline of the structures, important features (such as earthquake damage), and references the virtual 3D model to the real world.
