Morris Howard is the lead artist for the Dayton urban mural "The Land of Funk," which honors seven noted Funk bands: the Ohio Players, Heatwave, Slave, Faze-O, Zapp, Lakeside, and Sun. Project manager for the mural was Brittini Long, community engagement coordinator for Montgomery County Juvenile Court and founder of the HAALO Program (Helping Adolescents Achieve Long-term Objectives), members of which earned stipends working on the mural project.
