Biographical Information

(b. 1954) Vicki Tucker Courtney from Texas learned to play piano at the age of 4 and studied under Paul van Katwijk. She continued her musical study through high school, and after graduation, she worked at a local church while she studied piano performance at University of North Texas. She then worked in the corporate world for many years. In 2002, she began to study composition under Mark Hayes. Courtney published her first choral work in 2004 and by 2009 had published over 100 works. She currently writes full time while giving private piano lessons.
