Students in multiple courses came forward as writers for the 30 stories told in Facing Dayton: Neighborhood Narratives. After interviewing community members, the writers crafted the stories for publication in the storytellers' own voices.
Participating courses included:

- ENG 596: Composition Theory
- ENG 200: Writing Seminar: Community
Students from the Write Place and the Center for Social Concern also were independently involved. The project featured stories from residents in the following Dayton neighborhoods and others:

- Madden Hills
