Abstract
This collection contains Auguste Martin's personal Catholic image collections and art research materials. Primary subjects represented in the collection include Catholic art history, the Blessed Virgin Mary, events in the life of Jesus, and saints. Materials are primarily visual resources and include holy cards, clippings, pamphlets, photographs, handwritten notes, and ephemera. The collection primarily documents Martin's research interest in Catholic art history (generally classical art depicting Mary, Madonna and Child, Jesus, or saints). The collection also includes Martin's substantial collection of Catholic holy cards.
