Abstract
This rhetorical analysis examines a selection of weaning advisory articles on BabyCenter and KellyMom websites. Within this analysis, I employ Interpretive Thematic Analysis in order to identify rhetoric that contains praise or blame language. I conclude that several prominent rhetorical themes exist: language that denies agency to mothers, prioritizes child-led weaning, and subordinates the health and emotional needs of the mother.
