Abstract
Two tragic shootings, one May 20, 1988, in Winnetka, Ill., and one Oct. 13, 1992, in Chicago’s Cabrini Green public housing community set in motion a most unusual collaboration that changed the course of three people’s lives and resulted in the creation of the only resident-run community newspaper in Chicago public housing. This is the story of the Sister Neighborhood Project and what it could mean for Dayton moving forward, as we look to transcend systemic racism.
