Description
"Alla Vergine" is a musical setting of the first seven stanzaas of Canto XXXIII from Dante Alighieri's Paradiso. The music, composed by Leopoldo Mastrigli, is adapted from Ludwig van Beethoven's "Piano Sonata No. 14 in C Sharp" (Opus 27 no. 2), better known as the "Moonlight Sonata." The lyrics are taken from Saint Bernard's prayer to Mary, "Virgin Mother, daughter of your Son." This edition is arranged for solo voice, piano, violin, and cello.
