The Knights of Lithuania is a Catholic fraternal organization for men and women of Lithuanian descent in the United States. The Knights of Lithuania began as a youth organization in 1913 and eventually developed into an organization for Lithuanian-Americans of all ages.
The national organization transferred more than 100 years' worth of Knights of Lithuania records and memorabilia to the U.S. Catholic Special Collection in September 2015. An online guide summarizes the entire collection's contents.
At the time of the transfer of records to the University of Dayton, the organization had more than 150 councils nationwide.
Note: The Knights of Lithuania is an independent organization and is not affiliated directly with the University of Dayton. The U.S. Catholic Special Collection endeavors to preserve records of Catholic life in the United States and collect items that support the University’s doctoral program in religious studies focusing on the U.S. Catholic experience.
