Abstract

The history of Our Lady of Pochaiv (pronounced Po-cha-yiv) begins in 1198 at the top of Mount Pochayiv in the Carpathian Mountains, about two centuries after Christianity became institutionalized in Ukraine following the conversion of St. Volodymyr. This brochures provides a history and context. It was the subject of a Marian Library blog entry on March 18, 2022.

The publication of this millennium booklet was sponsored by St. Josaphat's Knights of Columbus Council, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, the first Ukrainian Catholic Council. Published by the Central Jubilee Committee of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1982.
