Father Alfred Boeddeker (1903-1994) was a Franciscan priest and Marian theologian in California. The materials in this collection come from the Marian Center and Library which Fr. Boeddeker founded as pastor of St. Boniface Church in San Francisco, as well as Fr. Boeddeker's personal collection. Subjects include the activities of the Marian Center and Library, the role of the Virgin Mary in the Franciscan order (Order of Friars Minor), Marian theology at the time of the Second Vatican Council, Catholic theatre, and 20th century Catholic education and mission work in China and Japan.
