Tidings, launched in 2023, is the newsletter and annual report of the Marian Library at the University of Dayton. It is a reimagining of the Marian Library Newsletter, which ran from 1944 to 2023.
The title, which means "news," is familiar from Scripture, particularly Isaiah 61:1, which Jesus reads from a scroll in the Rejection at Nazareth (Luke 4:18), and Luke's Nativity narrative, when the Angel of the Lord visits the shepherds to announce the birth of Jesus (Luke 2:10). In Tidings, Marian Library faculty, staff and researchers share engaging reflections and stories about collections, outreach, events and exhibits.
