Abstract
Best-selling author John Grisham is hot among the college crowd, but rhyme-meister Dr. Seuss is close behind in popularity, according to students at the University of Dayton. In an unscientific poll, University of Dayton English professors asked students to name 10 books they've read and would recommend as Christmas gifts for their peers. Of the 144 students who responded, 17 percent suggested The Firm by John Grisham. Grisham also garnered second place, with 12 percent selecting The Client. Green Eggs & Ham, by Dr. Seuss, tied with three adult novels, including Grisham's Pelican Brief, for seventh place, and the good doctor's One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and Oh, the Places You'll Go! were in the hunt for the runners-up slot.
