Abstract

When the class of 1998-99 enters college this fall at the University of Dayton, about 318 of them will be business majors — the highest number in a decade. That is 26 percent or 67 more students than last year's 251 and the most to enter UD's School of Business Administration since 1988, when 350 entered the school. Similar to many business programs across the country, UD saw a seven-year decline in total enrollment in the business programs after its peak in 1988 at 1,492 students to the low of 881 undergraduates in 1994. UD's growing numbers reflect a national trend, according to Chuck Hickman, director of projects and services at the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business
