Abstract

The University of Dayton's sesquicentennial celebration will continue when four local poets come together for a reading from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Dunbar House, 219 Paul Laurence Dunbar St. Called "The Dunbar Legacy: Minority Poets in Dayton, Ohio," the event's readings will celebrate diversity and dignity among all people. The event is free and open to the public. Reservations must be made by Dec. 1, and the first 75 to sign up will be accepted. Call UD's women's studies department at (937) 229-4290. Herbert Woodward Martin, UD' s poet-in-residence and English professor emeritus, will host poets Anthony Butts and Orlando Menes, first-year assistant professors of English at UD; and poet Deborah Stokes, an assistant professor of English at Central State University.
