Abstract
News release announces that Anthony Burke Smith argues in his new book The Look of Catholics: Portrayals in Popular Culture from the Great Depression to the Cold War, the period between the 1930s and 1950s witnessed a "Catholic moment" that helped change negative perceptions of Catholics through Catholic themed films and through the works of Catholic artists.
