Description

September 29, 1896

Major J. B. Pond,
Everett House,
Union Square.

Dear Major Pond,

I do not know where to address Mr. Paul Dunbar who has so kindly sent me three stanzas of his beautiful poem called “Longing” – the first bit of verse which he has written here. The poem is full of tender feeling and really touches the heart. I am so glad that Mr. Dunbar remembered to send it to me. Perhaps you will forward this note to him if you know his address. I am looking forward with great pleasure to reading more of Mr. Dunbar’s productions.

Very sincerely yours,

A W Drake
