Abstract

There are no exams. No grades. No compulsory attendance. And the professors volunteertheir time. “We’re here because we want to be here. We’re not watching the clock for when the classends. We’re keeping the teacher after class,” said Ellie Shulman, 86, who’s been takingclasses and moderating others at the University of Dayton’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute(UDOLLI) for the last 30 years.
