Description
Plastic doll is wearing a habit worn by the Carmelite Sisters of the Third Order. This order was founded by the Venerable Mother Luisa Josefa of the Blessed Sacrament in Mexico in 1904. The order relocated to the United States in 1927 when faced with religious persecution in Mexico. Today they are known as the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles. The doll is wearing a brown dress, brown scapular, black veil, and white wimple. A metal Latin cross hangs from a metal chain around the doll's neck, and a white plastic rosary hangs from the doll's waist.
