Description
Plastic doll is wearing a habit worn by the Sisters of the Holy Family. In 1837 Mothers Henriette De Lisle and Juliette Gaudin founded this order as the Sisters of the Presentation in New Orleans, Louisiana for free African American women to minister to the poor. The order changed its name in 1842. The doll is wearing a black dress, black veil, and white wimple. A metal crucifix is hanging from the doll's neck, and a white yarn belt is tied around the doll's waist, from which hangs a black rosary.
