Artist statement: In creating this work, I was inspired by how the everyday objects that surrounded me in my life during quarantine took on qualities resembling the virus. For example, a clementine became the body of the virus, and star-shaped pins reminded me of the virus's spikes. I wanted to depict how the virus was becoming a shared experience, present in each of our daily lives.
