My message for the 1918 and 2020 pandemic poster is to greatly display how similar the two pandemics are in terms of spread, symptoms, and the action of the people. I was influenced by images of the virus cells for each pandemic and influenced by the people who have lived during them. My idea is to show how similar both these issues are so that people can realize how big of a problem the pandemic we are facing is. The fact that the 2020 pandemic has so many similarities to the 1918 pandemic in terms of spread, symptoms, and the issues of stubborn people is crazy. My process of making was to start with what they have in common and to break away from that to work on the 1918 side and 2020 side of things.
To fully show how similar these pandemics are, I put all the symptoms that the two share in the center line that reads “CONTAGIOUS” and added the two virus cells to represent them intermingling, which further adds to the similarities.
