Why the honoree chose the book
This novel is about an adjunct professor who works five jobs in a day to survive. Not many students are aware that using adjunct faculty is a common practice in many higher education institutions. This might be another hidden crisis on college campuses similar to the study that shows that 36 percent of college students don't have enough to eat.
