Why the honoree chose the book
Dr. Grisel's story of her own addictions conveys her real human experiences with substances. She writes honestly and clearly while linking her experiences to complex neuroscience research findings. Her journey from addict to neuroscience scholar and teacher is admirable; she has much wisdom to share.
