Description

Saint Anthony of Padua holds the child Jesus in one arm, and a branch of lilies in the other. Branches of roses and lilies appear below the two figures. The front of the card has a handwritten inscription, and the back has a prayer to Saint Anthony. This card was printed by an unknown publisher at an unknown date, probably in the early twentieth century.

Transcription

St Anthony of Padua. Pray for me + guide me (front) Consecrate your soul to God that he may grant you strength and protection. O God may the celebration of the feast of Thy holy confessor St. Anthony always gladden Thy church. Grant that she may ever enjoy the protection of the Holy Ghost and that Heavenly joy may be her portion, through Christ our Lord. Amen. (back)
